Absorbing God Word
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
Applying God’s Word
Growing up, I was the smallest boy in my class. I was probably malnourished, due to poor eating habits. In my defense, I struggled swallowing things like meat, and rice had to have milk and sugar on it. There was no diagnosis for my problem, back then. Instead, I was punished for not eating the food that was served. I was in my late teens when the condition disappeared.
My twelve-year-old granddaughter, Caramia, has been in the hospital since before Christmas with the same fear of swallowing. They gave this condition a name in 2013. It’s called Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) previously referred to as “Selective Eating Disorder.”
I pray with Caramia in the hospital, via FaceTime. She loves to pray. When other patients cry out in pain, Caramia stops what she is doing and prays for them.
Others have been looking down at Caramia all her life and yet she has become a holy example to all of us in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Accounting of God’s Word
Thank you in advance for your prayers for Caramia and our family.
