Absorbing God’s Word
“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him.” Luke 17:15-16
Applying God’s Word
I don’t know how many times I have experienced God’s mercy, grace, and healing…too many to count. Fortunately, I’ve become very good at remembering to thank God after experiencing a positive response to prayer for myself or someone I know.
Unfortunately, I am sometimes complacent about just praising God. It’s not like I need a reason to throw myself at the feet of Jesus in thanks and praise. Every time I have praised God through meditation, on my knees or prostrate before him, I’ve experienced an overwhelming sense of His presence and love.
The world is in a tumultuous season which breeds doubt, high anxiety, and legitimate concern. This Thanksgiving is an opportunity for each of us to give God thanks and praise. It’s a good time to jump, shout, dance, sing and to let God know that we haven’t lost sight of His incredible generosity and love.
Accounting of God’s Word
Have I thrown myself at the feet of Jesus lately?
