Absorbing God Word
“So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.” 1 Corinthians 15:42-44
Applying God’s Word
I love reading and reflecting on 1 Corinthians 15. It offers believers so much hope. It allows us to look beyond this life and to know that something truly better exists in the next.
Last week, I spent some time in prayer at the gravesite of my late wife, Joanne. It would have been her 75th birthday. At some point, my remains will be at the same gravesite. In fact, my name and date of birth are already printed on the marker. Yes, my funeral, casket, flowers, etc. have also been taken care of.
It wasn’t that difficult to make these final arrangements because it’s a place I don’t plan on staying at very long. The plan is to be raised imperishable, raised in glory, raised in power and raised as a spiritual body.
Accounting of God’s Word
Do I spend more time preparing for this life than I do for the next?
