Absorbing God’s Word
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Applying God’s Word
In the early 1980’s, I was prayed over for the release of the Holy Spirit two different times. Both times, my lips said “YES”, but my heart said “NO”.
I remember being asked three questions. 1) “Jack, do you reject Satan and all sin?” 2) “Jack, do you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior?” 3) “Jack, do you give God permission to release His Holy Spirit in and through you?”
God knew I was afraid and patiently waited until I was ready. The third time was in April of 1987. I finally gave God permission, by saying yes to all three of those questions with my heart.
I was still too prideful, however, for God to trust me with more than a little of His power. Therefore, He just empowered me with a thirst for scripture. God used scripture to show me the truth about who I had become verses who He had created me to be
Accounting of God’s Word
Do I continue to give God permission to release more of His Holy Spirit in and through me? When was the last time I answered the above three questions with a “YES” from my heart?
