Absorbing God’s Word
“For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.” Psalm 72:12
Applying God’s Word
Smoke has blocked the sun from shining on our city, due to the fires in and around Paradise, California. We are wearing masks outside and there’s a temptation to complain about the air quality or our inability to move around at will.
The presence of smoke, however, is a continuous signal for us to pray for those who have lost everything; including loved ones.
As helpless as we feel, we know that the victims of the fire and those who are fighting the fires need physical, emotional, and spiritual assistance. We may not be able to help first-hand, but every one of us can cry out to God on their behalf.
Accounting of God’s Word
What signals am I getting to make Thanksgiving better for those who have lost all hope?
