Absorbing God’s Word
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
Applying God’s Word
My wife Louise and I first met four years ago at a restaurant in Palm Desert called The Nest. Last week, we flew back to Palm Desert to celebrate our third anniversary at The Nest. Our favorite table was already taken by another couple, so we took the table next to them.
It was this couple’s first visit to The Nest, even though they had lived in the desert for many years. We told them we met at The Nest, the same week I had come to the desert to speak to a Christian group at a nearby church. The church I spoke to is the church they presently attend. Coincidence? I think it was more of a God-incidence.
They had never heard of the Christians in Commerce group meetings at their church and were eager to know more about it.
They’ve already contacted the leaders of that group and are excited about attending the next weekly meeting.
I love how God uses such gentleness and respect to guide folks where He wants them and at just the right time.
Accounting of God’s Word
Is God using me to gently and respectfully lead others to be His followers? Am I prepared to give the reason for the hope I have in Jesus?
