John 13:27 – “Betrayal”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So, Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” John 13:27

Applying God’s Word

It’s so easy to judge Judas for betraying Jesus. Then Peter comes right behind Judas with a complete denial of ever knowing Jesus. Both men do their part in sending Jesus to His death.

I can’t begin to count the times I’ve betrayed God. When I sin, I not only betray God and my friendship with Jesus, but I betray my own spiritual integrity. Judas and Peter have nothing on me. My sin sent Jesus to His death, also.

The good news is that I have a repentant heart and Jesus knows it. I sit with Him daily to review my short-comings; to ask for His forgiveness. His forgiveness empowers me to sin less and love more.

Accounting of God’s Word

Have I admitted my sin to God and asked Him to forgive me? What does my spiritual integrity look like today?
