Absorbing God’s Word
“Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.” Mark 2: 3-4
Applying God’s Word
Getting to Jesus is critical for all of us. If I’m not being carried to Jesus, I should be carrying someone else to the heart of Jesus.
The first thing I ask folks to do for me when I’m struggling is to pray for me. The first thing I do for others that need Jesus is pray for them. Prayer is the key to knowing God’s will for myself and/or God’s will for another person. We want to be carried to Jesus with great love and compassion and others want to be carried to Jesus that way, also.
There have been times when I’ve tried to drag someone to Jesus. It doesn’t work. God doesn’t want that. He wants us to love people to His heart and then He will take care of the rest. That’s how I was carried to the heart of Jesus and I really appreciated it.
Accounting of God’s Word
Who am I being called to love to the heart of Jesus? Am I doing so with great compassion and patience?
