Absorbing God’s Word
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12
Applying God’s Word
The world did a great job of brain-washing me into believing that I was the one making everything happen. Unfortunately, that stinking thinking aligns itself with the lies of Satan.
The first time I came to understand Ephesians 6:12, I also understood that by choosing Jesus, His enemy became my enemy. Followers of Jesus need to know that the spiritual realm is real; that Satan is real. Satan comes at us with every weapon in his arsenal; he does this to separate us from God. Jesus death and resurrection empowered us with God’s Holy Spirit, to fight alongside Jesus until the final bell.
I am constantly fighting against the enemy for myself, family, friends and strangers. Our flesh and blood is weak. No one crosses the battlefield of life without being wounded. So, all-the-more reason to carry one another, wounds and all, to the feet of Jesus.
Accounting of God’s Word
Do I know I am in a fight for my spiritual life? Am I attacking the enemy or retreating from him? Am I being carried or doing the carrying?
