Absorbing God’s Word
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9
Applying God’s Word
Not too long ago, the world went wireless. Modern technology has made accessing information instantaneous. Even though we cannot see it, millions of communications are taking place in cyberspace. God is capable of far far more and yet we dare to doubt His existence by making Him smaller than ourselves.
As a young boy, folks said that God was bigger than I could ever imagine. Therefore, I judged God was probably a giant compared to my own dad and possibly a little stricter.
After a year of seminary at Mission Santa Barbara, my image of God changed. I did believe God was bigger than I could ever imagine. I was in my forties before I believed God was larger than the Universe He created or that He could make Himself small enough to inhabit me, by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.
Now, I believe that God is immeasurable and that His spiritual embrace encompasses this entire universe and beyond.
Accounting of God’s Word
How big is my God? Do I trust and rely on Him more or less than modern technology?
